Can Rabbits eat Paper?

Paper is not something that we would eat as humans but is something that is often found in the cages of small pets.

So can rabbits eat paper at all and is it safe for them to do so?

Paper is fine for them to chew on. They will tend to self regulate themselves when it comes to how much of it to eat.

A lot of people will use it for bedding and rabbits will chew it because, well because it is there and they chew anything. As a food of course, it gives them no nutrition, but at least it provides something to chew on for them.

Just make sure it doesn’t have any toxic substances on it such as toxic pen markings (rare I know, but you never know).

Another way people use paper, is to give the rabbit the shreddings from a shredder which is also fine.
